There is something special about taking a day to yourself. In this fast-paced life I’ve been living where free time is ever-fleeting, I find myself forgetting to take time for me. Today I did that, and what a wonderful day it’s been!
I was able to start reorganizing the tiny little space I currently call home, and caught up on things I’d let fall by the wayside in my constant shuffle. I normally love being around people but I have had almost zero human contact all day and it’s left me a lot of time to find peace. As I’m ramping up for the holiday season in my retail job, this brief bit of respite is going to be extremely helpful. I already can’t wait for it to be over. It’s fit to get worse before it gets better, with the dreaded Black Friday and subsequent bombardment of tired Christmas tunes looming overhead. Be kind to your retail folks, this time of year is really hard on us!
Taking time today also meant I could spend a little time working on some music. I’ve finally got a couple demos working toward becoming songs, piece by piece. I’m really working hard on the new music so the next thing I put out is the best I can produce. As they come together, I’ll be looking to start playing out again, most likely after the new year. I’ll be posting things way less vague, and maybe a few audio snippets very soon. Can’t wait to start sharing more, it’s been way too long since I’ve put anything out.
